A country which has it all, superb infrastructure, world famous national parks, world heritage sites, abundant wildlife, diverse cultures, spectacular mountains, remote deserts, and splendid coastal regions. Imagine dining under a canopy of stars, meeting some of Africas most famous wildlife up close, getting to know the locals in one of the many vibrant townships, or enjoying a sundowner as you watch the sun go down over the warm Indian ocean.
This tour offers an opportunity to experience all these things while travelling in comfort by using quant guest houses, lodges and park accommodation as we explore the best of what South Africa has to offer.
Starting from the vibrant city of Johannesburg, we will spend time in Kruger National Park, Hilane Royal National Park, Hluhluwe Game Reserve, iSimangaliso National Park, and Addo Elephant Park all home to Africa's iconic animals. Extensive game drives will be taken including night drives in search of the elusive leopard, iSimangaliso is famous for its birdlife, high populations of hippos, and nile crocodile.
After passing through the kingdom of Swaziland, we will cross the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains visitng Golden Gate National with its spectaular scenery, before heading down to the coast to one of South Africa's most famous drives - The Garden Route, at this time of the year the flowers are blooming and the whales venture close to shore to give birth and mate which gives great opportunities to view the southern right whale and other marine mammals closely from land and by boat. Some days will be spent exploring the Knysna Forest along the old woodcutters trails where some people believe the forest elephants still roam. We will explore the quaint and historic villages of Graaff-Renet, Montague and Hermanus with their beautiful Cape dutch archiecture and long histories before making our way slowly to the mother city of Cape Town, listed as one of the most beautiful and top cities in the world. While here we will explore the area and surrounds including Table Mountain (weather permitting) Cape Point Nature Reserve and the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
In the evenings we will dine out in one of the many excellent restaraunts available in the city the perfect way to end the day.
